Affiliate Club Guidelines
If you would prefer that your new Ad 2 chapter be affiliated with an existing AAF club, you may want to establish your Ad 2 under the affiliate club guidelines.

Here are the steps "senior" clubs should consider when forming an Ad 2 affiliate.

Appoint a small committee of club leaders and interested under-32 members to manage the formation of an Ad 2 affiliate chapter. Have this committee research potential Ad 2 members by compiling lists of existing "senior" club members under the age of 32. Add to this list by having each current "senior" club members supply the committee with the name of a young advertising professional that may be interested in joining the Ad 2 affiliate chapter. You may also want to include a column in the club newsletter about the new Ad 2 and/or send out a press release to trade publications.

Be sure to contact AAF and National Ad 2 to let them know you are investigating the formation of an Ad 2 affiliate chapter. Both organizations will provide sample bylaws and other important materials for your use.

Use your committee to establish a temporary Board of Directors for the Ad 2 affiliate. This group should create projected budgets for the club. The "senior" club may want to provide some seed money for the new Ad 2. This temporary Board of Directors should also establish a dues structure and membership application and plan the first Ad 2 meeting. Dues should be set low in comparision to "senior" club dues, as most Ad 2 members are young professionals just starting out in the industry.

At the first meeting, solicit volunteers interested in serving on the new chapter's Board of Directors. Elections should be scheduled shortly thereafter.

Once elections are concluded and officers are in place, the new Ad 2 affiliate should draft its official bylaws. You may want to appoint a liaison from the "senior" club Board of Directors to attend Ad 2 meetings to provide guidance. Similarly, Ad 2 members may appoint a liaison to attend "senior" club Board meetings to report on Ad 2 activities.

Once the new chapter is up and running and has bylaws, contact AAF and National Ad 2 to submit the new chapter for official membership. For more details, see the Starting a Club information on this Web site.

These new Ad 2 members will add a lot to your club. They're energetic, and they work hard. Give them your support, guidance and wisdom, and they will attract lots of new members to your organization.
