Ad 2 Honolulu Media Month
This month is dedicated to those “parking spaces” for our ads – Media. Actually, media is the foundation of the entire advertising industry. After all, how would we promote a company if there wasn’t any media? Yelling on a street corner? Anyway, Ad 2 Honolulu has set up 2 tours to give you an inside look at some of the largest and most influential media companies in the Hawaii.

Honolulu Advertiser Tour: Newspapers shaper the thoughts and opinions of people everyday. Despite the proliferation of the Internet, cable TV, magazines, plasma screens in airports, text messaging, and “Celebreties Uncensored,” it continues to be rates as the number one source of news for adults. Newspapers are the driving force for a free economy by allowing different ideas and philosophies to be voiced and ensuring accountability for our leaders….and it’s really cool when the print presses are running. It’s like in the movies! Ad 2 Honolulu invited you to tour the largest circulation newspaper in Hawaii, the Honolulu Advertiser. Watch how a lead from a single phone call can become today’s top story. Completely FREE to members!
Date: Thursday, January 22, 12:45pm
Location: 605 Kapiolani Blvd, Honolulu, HI 96813 across from Kabuki and TJ’s.
Please RSVP to Ad2honolulu@hotmail.com by Monday, January 19.

Clear Channel Communications Radio Tour: Ever Wonder what wacky shenanigans are happening on the other side of the radio dial? Are you curious what your favorite radio DJ looks like in real life? Nope? Me either. But believe it or not, radio stations are a major media vehicle for both small and large advertisers. And the stations often provide much more than simply airing a :60 spot in between the Top 5 at 5 and Ashanti Trivia. They allow advertisers to target their marketing to very specific groups, reducing their costs and allowing them to create very relevant messages. For example, when’s the last time you listened to KSSK? When was the last time your parents did? Many of the stations have a “street” promotion team, which can go out in the community and reach the target in person, generating excitement and “buzz” for a company. And for smaller advertisers they’ll even produce radio spots at zero or low cost. Ad 2 Honolulu invited you to take a tour through the recording studios and offices of Clear Channel Communications whose rosters includes: I-94, KSSK, Island Rhythms 98.5, Star 101.9, and KHVH 830 AM all in one building! Again Free to all members!
Date: Thursday, January 29 – 12:30pm
Location: 650 Iwilei Rd #400, Honolulu, KI 96817 (near Dole Cannery)
Please RSVP to Ad2honolulu@hotmail.com by Monday, January 26.

Ad 2 Make Me A Club Slut!
The W Hotel Fri., Aug.30, 10pm to whenever they kick us out. RSVP with Bobbie at bobbiebrock@hawaii.rr.com and join in on the fun that only people of questionable ethics can enjoy.

You're a young advertising professional. What does that mean? It means the word "vacation" confuses you. It means you have a complexion that makes strangers think you're "just visiting" and friends think you have the flu. You need help. Help that only dressing like a person whose loose moral fiber can bring. So, next Friday, go home, get dressed, and let Ad 2 Honolulu help make you a club slut. How? Easy, by endowing you with Club Slut Powers:
*walk past the line at the door and front mad attitude,
*tell the bouncer you're on the list and strut through the velvet rope,
*tell the door girl you're an Ad 2 Club Slut and stroll in free of charge,
*Kick it in the VIP room all night long,
*Ho yourself out to anything that looks at you….err maybe not that last one but if you do we won't tell a soul.
