Ad 2 Honolulu We’re wrapping up our public service campaign for Hawaii Meals on Wheels and the results are rolling in. Ads are airing, people are taking action to help out and the client is pleased as punch. All kidding aside, this has been a great experience for the members of Ad 2 Honolulu. There is great gratification in knowing that we were able to better the future of HMoW through working on this campaign. Lastly, we’re currently embarking on holding our first general membership meeting and party. We’ll let you know how it goes. Elections to determine the 2005-06 board are nearly finalized. Congrats to incoming President Celeste Chikamori!
Ad 2 Kansas City We hosted the Ad 2 Bar Olympics in April, consisting of Ms. Pac Man, darts, bar-top trivia and pop-a-shot. The winner got a sweet trophy. We're currently gearing up for Ad Wars 2005 on May 19, to be hosted by John January and Tug McTighe from Sullivan Higdon & Sink, and American Copywriter.

Ad 2 Orlando In addition, Ad2 Orlando and OAF partnered with Lifestyle Publications to sponsor the first annual “Night Moves” - a blacklight indoor volleyball tournament. Teams competed in the dark with black lights and body paint to help raise money and support the Orlando Volleyball Academy and New Hope for Kids. The event was a huge success and everyone enjoyed good music, food and volleyball in the dark! Coming up in April for Ad2 Orlando and OAF is the third annual auction, taking place on April 7 at the Social in downtown Orlando. The theme is a take on the popular movie “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.” Over 200 advertising professionals and friends will help to support scholarships to send deserving students to college as well as help New Hope for Kids. Items donated and up for auction to the highest bidder include media, attraction tickets, retail items, fitness memberships, photography, flowers, vacation packages and hotel stays to name a few.

Ad 2 Reno We’ve held two educational events, one about direct mail, which was hosted at the Ad 2 Reno club sponsor’s place of business, CSG Direct. Ad 2 Reno has also hosted an Internet Marketing event which was a fun and successful event. More educational events are in the works, and Ad 2 Reno is looking to hold its events on a more consistent basis as we become more established. Ad 2 Reno was also the host of an ADDY’s pre-party with a prohibition theme. We worked with a local casino bar to create special drinks just for our club and also had a professional photographer taking “mug shots” of party-goers. This event was a big success and Ad 2 Reno had the ability to mix with each other and meet new friends, too. A key to promoting Ad 2 Reno will be our Website, adreno.com. We are working on having this established by the end of May, as well as creating an e-blast template so that we can communicate information to our members in a professional manner.
Ad 2 San Francisco Ad2 SF is still in the planning for our large "Art of Advertising" event to be held on September 29th at Red Ink Studios. This event will focus on the talent of creative people in our agencies; outside the realms of what they do every day. Attendees will get a chance to display, and sell their work in a gallery that they would never typically have a chance to be in. This event will fall in line after Adweek's Creative Sessions that end at 5pm on the 29th. All participants in the event will get their work published in a hardback coffee table book, "The Art of SF Advertising." Overall, the club is great. With a strategy of a "zero" operation budget we have be able to secure venues and projects that typically go unnoticed in the eye of an organization willing to pay. Trade and sponsorship is the way to build long lasting relationships that will keep this club going for years to come.
Ad 2 Seattle The Student ADDY's encouraged our young professionals to design some of the best work in the Northwest winning not only $1000 in scholarships for the School of Visual Concepts, but our Best of Show also won at the District ADDY's proving Seattle has some tough competition and extremely talented young creatives. We are also in development of capping our year off with an incredible Advertising Careers Program with Horizon Careers in Seattle, to learn exactly how to get those exclusive positions in the competitive ad industry. Our membership is increasing every month and our talent continues to grow. Ad Club Seattle offers Ad 2 some of the most incredible opportunities in the Northwest and we consider ourselves quite lucky. We are looking forward to Nationals and increasing our network with the rest of the country!! On the road again... can't wait to get on the road again... Here we come Nationals!!
Ad 2 Tampa Bay Our Membership Brochure (which is fabulous) received a Silver Addy for our creativity. Our first program of 2005 was a tour of Nielsen Media in Clearwater in mid February where everyone had such a great time, including the Nielsen staff that the information session lasted an hour extra. Jack Hebert, a silver medalist recipient and the Lobbyist for the 4th District AAF gave us an insight to the legislature and government process up in Tallahassee. We partnered with TBAF for an evening of inspiration and reflection with Mary Lou Quinlan, author of Time off for Good Behavior: How Hard Working Women Can Take a Break and Change Their Lives. Our Merchandise and Media Auction this year was our last main event of the year where we raised close to $12,000. We received a district award for making the A list for clubs that excel and reach a set amount of points for their efforts this year.
